Gabriel Fauré

3 Romances sans paroles - Op. 17

Gabriel Fauré's three Romances sans paroles, Op. 17, are three pieces for solo piano. They are dedicated to Madame Félix Lévy, Mademoiselle Laure de Leyritz, and Madame Florent Saglio, respectively.

They are thought to have been composed around 1863 and were first published by Hamelle in 1880. There is a transcription for violin or cello and piano by Jules Delsart. There is also a transcription for four hands of the first romance, written by Gabriel Fauré himself in 1864.
